The Albin Family
Hi! We are Ken and Karen Albin in St. Augustine, Florida. We originally
came from Chattanooga, Tennessee, where we met in college. We were
married in Live Oak, Florida in 1979 and have lived in Florida ever since.
Ken has a B.A.in Biology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
and a M.Ed Science degree from the University of Florida (go Gators!).
He is currently an Anatomy/Physiology and Biology instructor at Bartram Trail
High School.
Karen has a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
She is the city chemist for the city of St. Augustine.
Our Albin lineage has officially been traced back to a James Albin in the 1500's
in Derbyshire, England. It's rumored that we originally came from Romania,
emigrated through present day Germany, France, and then to England. From
England the family went to Ireland, emigrated to New York in the 1700's, and
from there went west and south. My dad was born in the small town of Leakey,
Texas. He married in Georgia and after WWII settled down in Tennessee. That's
where Ken was born (New Johnsonville). Karen's family (Moon) has always lived in
Chattanooga, Tennessee. Both Ken and Karen's fathers worked for the Tennessee
Valley Authority until retirement.
