Sebastian

Look up neurotic in the dictionary and you are likely to see a picture of
Sebastian beneath the definition. He was trapped behind the lab where Karen
works. Sebastian was the runt of a litter that was eating out of the dumpster
there. After the vet visit we took him home and thus began a month of training
this feral cat to trust humans. My hands were covered with scratches by the end
of that month but Sebastian was ready to meet the other cats. He would not leave
the room on his own so I had him get between my feet and I opened the door. I
then said "Walkies!" and I walked across the room with Sebastian staying
between my feet as he stared out at the other cats. It did not take too long
before he settled in. Sebastian is a little on the bullying side but is still
insecure and will probably always remain so due to his early life. When we
brought in Velvet and Beau, Sebastian stopped eating. Four trips to the vet and
it was finally decided that he had psychological problems. We used Feliway
hormone spray to calm him and it has helped a lot. He had a rough couple of
months acclimating to the new cats but I'm happy to say that he is now at home
with them and is eating well again. Our neurotic little guy is still as crazy
as ever and is very jealous of the other boys. He craves attention and puts
his tail in their faces when we try to pet the others. What a stinker!
