Miss Kitty

One day Miss Kitty came wandering up to the house from a barn nearby. She was
literally starving to death and was desperate for food. There were a number of
cats living in this barn. Miss Kitty was very small and could not compete with
the others for food. Another problem Miss Kitty had was that she was very young
and pregnant. We started feeding her daily. She gained weight but she lost her
litter. Afterwards, we took Miss Kitty in to be spayed, get her vaccinations,
and get a full checkup. She was an outside cat at first but we soon realized
that she would be much safer inside. Miss Kitty was our first fulltime indoor
cat. When Daddy Cat and Casper followed her up to the house and we took them in,
they were also brought inside. All of our cats now are indoors and spayed or
neutered thanks to our increased awareness because of Miss Kitty.

She is the only female cat here. Once we tried to bring in another female cat
and Miss Kitty was so upset she swiped me (Ken) across the face with her claws.
She is absolutely the queen cat here and would not tolerate any competition so
we had to adopt out the other female cat. Miss Kitty keeps the boys in line here
though she is approaching her senior years now. She is still as feisty and
quirky as ever.
