  • Theosis Christian College & Seminary is the training ground for the Charismatic Orthodox Church.
  • Non-COC ministers and applicants are encouraged to enroll. You will receive a solid biblical and historical education that is practical to today's real needs.
  • Theosis is based on the Jewish Rabbinical model of mentorship.
  • Our classes and courses are designed to help train you to be all of the man or woman of God that you were created and purposed to be.
  • Most students are trained via COC partner sites in our parishes. However online, and extension study is available.
  • Through the scholarship program of the COC, Theosis has kept costs to a bare minimum for all students and additional scholarships are available to COC applicants.
  • The courses are designed by real ministers of the gospel.  Bishops who lead and Evangelists who save, Prophets who proclaim and Pastors who shepherd, all have input into the training while adhering to the Chancellors academic standards.
  • Our courses of study are based on practical experience, not just theory. Our Patriarch is often quoted, "Theology without experience, is only theory"
  • We want to see you succeed in ministry.

What exactly does Theosis mean?
An easy definition for Theosis is: "Union with God". St Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 3:18 "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord
Again St Paul guides us in 1 Corinthians 11:1 "Imitate me, as I imitate Christ."
The Gospel of St John 14:20 "...you will understand that I am in my Father, and you in Me, and I in you."
We are told that we are to be transformed, and made new, into the likeness and image of Christ. The book of Genesis tells us that we were made in the image of God, and that He was pleased with His creation of man. Theosis is a very ancient understanding, often times referred to as the goal of all Christians by the Eastern Fathers of the Church. Rev. Dr. Stanley Harakas relates to Theosis and becoming a saint with "a term in Orthodox Christian teaching which describes that believer who has deeply bonded his life with God, who worships and communes with God, and who feels, wills and acts in harmony with Gods life and will"
Theosis is not a school for mental accomplishment, but rather to help us all to become saints, to become like God, with the Holy Spirit within us, to help us become like Christ.
